AlphaNet is a not-for-profit organization empowering those diagnosed with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency take charge and improve their lives with a commitment to funding research for a cure.

With the help of DMN, they were better able to fund the mission of helping those with Alpha-1, build a more extensive care network, and grow the community through education and increased contact points. AlphaNet was able to raise $68 million to date to help fund research, community programs, and patient education through long-standing partnerships with all pharma in the Alpha-1 space. We helped to create an extensive peer-to-peer network consisting of over 65 Coordinators who help serve 8,000 patients throughout the United States and Canada. With the increased number of community contact points (74,000 patient contacts in 2021 alone), AlphaNet is better able to educate and support those with Alpha-1 while gathering valuable health and quality of life data.

Through the empathetic, peer-to-peer model, adherence rates for a weekly infusion treatment grew to 90%+.

Based on peer-reviewed, published papers, our disease management program helped lower health costs and promote better health habits. In a two-year Outcomes Study, participants that enrolled in AlphaNet’s disease management program achieved improved quality of life scores, as well as reduced their emergency room visits and unscheduled doctor visits among other improvements. In addition, those enrolled in an intensive fitness intervention program via AlphaNet’s disease management program led to positive health and lifestyle changes for those with Alpha-1. These individuals increased physical activity by 13% and lowered their BMI.
